11×11″ (approx.) acrylic on silk
I kind of love this one. In looking for fabric for a Christmas project, I discovered a large piece of white silk I had bought years ago for an art project, didn’t end up using it, and stuffed it away in a zipped plastic bag. I cut out a couple of square pieces of the silk to do a couple of scrape paintings using it as the “paper.” I love the results on this one, so I may do more in the waning days of 2015.
I’m not really sure what caused the “wrinkles” in the painting—was it the scraping tool? the parchment paper underneath? something about the paint itself? I don’t know. But it’s a cool effect, however it happened!
